Pursuant to Article IV, Section 1 of the bylaws of the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA), notice is hereby given that a meeting of the general membership will be held October 4-7, 2006, at the Marriott Crystal City, 1999 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, Virginia.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: July 10th
Join us Wednesday evening, October 4th, for the Welcome Reception. This is a precursor to an exciting "Hill Day" on October 5th - Congressman Curt Weldon will host our morning program at the hotel with other notables. Then it's up to Capitol Hill for afternoon appointments with your Congressional Representatives and Senators. The day's events will culminate in an evening reception hosted by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) and co-sponsored by the FAMA/FEMSA Governmental Affairs Committee in the Penthouse of the Library of Congress where members of Congress and the Senate will join with our members as well as dignitaries from other fire and emergency services-related associations. This will be a grand affair and one you won't want to miss.
The preliminary meeting schedule (attached) details all meetings planned through Saturday, October 7th. Thereafter, members are welcomed to attend the NFFF Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, MD, to honor fallen heroes.
On-line registration is now available at www.femsa.org. Click on the link [FEMSA/FAMA Fall Meeting] at the home page; that will actually take you to the registration page that is based on the FAMA web site (a cooperative effort between FEMSA and FAMA). If you do not receive an electronic confirmation from Bob Grimaldi within 48 hours of submitting your on-line registration, contact Bob directly (Tel: 315-337-0560; email: bobg@rometravel.com). Your confirmation will include a receipt for your requested booking. In addition, we will email broadcast a list of registered attendees periodically. If you registered and do not see your name on the list, contact Bob immediately. These procedures will ensure that everyone is accounted for.
All members are encouraged to book their rooms at the Marriott Crystal City through the FEMSA/FAMA room block (see on-line registration form). Our group is guaranteed the best available rate for the dates of our stay at the hotel.
In order to accommodate all member requests and fulfill our room block commitment, registration deadline has been set early - July 10th. At that time we must advise the hotel how many sleeping rooms will be required each night of our meeting events.
MEETING FEES AND CANCELLATION POLICY
1. Meeting Fees: No "a la carte" meeting fee schedules are available to members, spouses and/or guests with the exception of children under 18 years of age.
2. Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel, a full room rate refund will follow provided notice of cancellation is given by September 4, 2006. The only exception is that no refunds will be honored for meeting fees if cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to arrival, as all food and beverage services must be guaranteed 30 days in advance.
